There are hundreds of combinations that can be changed in the Options Menu.. These changes affect how the game looks, sounds, moves, and how it is played. There are four main sections to the Options Menu:

Game Options
This section affects what you see on your Heads Up Display (or HUD).

Name Screen:

This section will affect how People and NPC’s are labeled on your HUD. When these settings are toggled "ON" with a green check mark, you will be able to see that piece of information constantly, even when the item is not targeted.
The Menu Arrow will show the three available options for displaying your titles. Basic Titles are those that you earn and turn on in the.
The Legion Name Menu will show or hide your allegiance.

Status Bar Screen:

On your HUD, a floating Status Bar will appear above characters, if you toggle them on in the options menu. You can toggle this feature on and off for your self and all other targets. This floating status bar will represent damage that is being taken. It appears as a thin red bar above whomever you have targeted.
This drop down menu will change how you see your own floating status bar.

Camera Screen:

This will affect how far away the camera can be bushed back from the character. The farther back, the more items a video card is forced to draw. Keeping this at "Normal" or "-", will improve your performance.
This will affect how quickly your camera is capable of following you player character as you move and turn.

Character Screen:

This section deals mostly with how you would like to interact and be seen by other players. Reject means that other players will not be able to initiate the transaction. This does not prevent you from being able to initiate the action yourself.
You can toggle your helmet on or off. You will still receive all of the attributes from an equipped helmet.
There may be times you do not wish to have you Legion cloak visible.

There is a lot happening in this section.

9 - Fixing your compass can help if you find your self getting turned around in the game. Always knowing where north is can come in handy.
10 - You may wish to see the region you are in with your compass, and not have to switch to your map.
11 - One of the ways you move around the map is by clicking on a location on the ground and letting you character move to that point. This will enable and disable that ability.
(12 - 13) - This affects you ability to "One-Click": and use or attack.
14 - Active quests will show arrows leading to NPC’s associated with the mission.
15 - Toggle rather you would like to go to the Aion websight after exiting the game.

This section of options is based around optimizing the video and game performance of your computer. Selecting lower values may increase your computers performance, but drastically change the way the game looks.

There's a personal preference balance to be struck between performance and appearance.

Hovering your cursor over each option in this section will provide a detailed tool tip with how each option affects one another.
